To staff the organization, Bob attracted skilled mariners who also possessed a Progressive Perspective of sustainable cruising technologies. Sea Air Land Technologies’ crew had acquired extensive long distance cruising experience; either on their own personal vessels, as hired charter captains, or as contracted skippers delivering newly commissioned yachts. The collective knowledge gained by this group of individuals signified practical, hands-on experience with numerous, Diverse systems on a variety of vessels. Sea Air Land Technologies, Inc. was thus positioned to provide their customers with a qualified staff experienced in designing empirically proven marine systems.

By providing integrated, Balanced, turnkey solutions designed to efficiently manage power consumption, production, and storage, Sea Air Land Technologies, Inc. was able to successfully fulfill the challenging requirements that Self-Reliance demands. The company recognized that similar applications of these systems worked well for other independent lifestyles, such as motor coaches migrating from the North, and for remote island property owners living in off-grid homes. Soon, Sea Air Land Technologies, Inc. expanded the business to provide solutions for these customer’s distinctive needs.

Rising utility costs combined with government tax credits and incentives for renewable energy installations stimulated more traditional homeowner’s to Invest in grid-tie solar electric (photovoltaic or PV) systems. By bringing Chuck Meier into the organization, Sea Air Land Technologies evolved into the company now known as SALT Service, Inc. an organization with a Focus on fulfilling the expanding residential demands for renewable energy systems.
Having spent a number of years living abroad while working in the energy industry, Chuck was also fascinated by the sustainable living practices he’d witnessed overseas and thus gained a great deal on expertise in technologies that reduce energy consumption. Sea Air Land Technologies’ ability to engineer and install durable, Alternative Energy systems and energy efficient appliances to a self-reliant customer base residing in a harsh environment attracted Chuck to the business. Since joining the organization, he has been instrumental in developing similarly Robust, renewable energy systems for South Florida’s grid-tied residential and business community, and positioned SALT Service, Inc. to garner the support of the Florida Keys Electric Cooperative and the Keys Energy utility companies.
Today, SALT Service, Inc. remains the South Florida and Caribbean authority in Alternative Energy Systems and Energy Efficient Appliances!

In striving for a high standard of Integrity and a qualified, customer-oriented staff, Bob and Chuck have established SALT as one of the most respected companies in its field. Bob was the first Florida State Licensed Solar Contractor in Monroe County (CVC #56734) and we also have North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners - (NABCEP) Solar PV Installers on our team.
Our solar power installation Experience includes solar electric (photovoltaic or PV) systems, solar lighting, domestic solar hot water (DSHW), and solar pool heating systems for both residential and commercial clients throughout the Florida Keys. SALT’s portfolio includes the Largest Residential Grid-Tied PV Systems in the Keys, at 8.4 kilowatts.
In addition to our solar expertise, we are Knowledgeable about wind power – a viable renewable energy solution for South Florida and the Caribbean. Our engineers Have devoted many hours analyzing historical wind data in the Florida Keys, which positions SALT to recommend the most optimal wind generators that take advantage of these specific wind conditions. Our first residential wind turbine installation on East Sisters’ Creek Island is still Efficiently operating after 15 years.
SALT Services, Inc. also has on staff a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional. With this training, we can evaluate residential or commercial structures or building plans, and make recommendations for energy Savings, water efficiency, CO emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

SALT has several USCG Licensed Captains on our team, ranging from a 6 Pack License to a 100 Ton Master, each with extensive experience on a variety of boats. This means real experience with real cruising systems, so we Understand the unique needs of boat owners.
As an Authorized Dealer for some of the most innovative, state-of-the-art appliances and power management equipment on the market, our customers get the confidence of fully warranted installations. SALT is also Factory Certified to provide any repairs that may arise and our EPA Certified Refrigerant Technicians ensure all of these services are done in an environmentally friendly manner.
SALT's 6 Service Vehicles can reach you at any home, business, marina or mooring field in the Florida Keys. Having Pilots in our Organization means we can dispatch our services and support to even more remote locations, such as the Dry Tortugas or into the Bahamas via Aircraft.
