Climate control on yachts has been a standard for many years. In many cases central systems were installed to provide cooling on shore power in marinas where hatch ventilation was not practical. As generators and condensing units got more Compact, they became more Popular on smaller cruising vessels for offshore use as well.
SALT can share a lot of insight into creative variations on air conditioning to Optimize air flow while minimizing the loss of critical storage space. In addition, SALT has pioneered an approach to air conditioning without the use of generators, offering a packaged system of Balanced inverter/alternator power that can support an air conditioning unit while your diesel engine is running at idle.
Our most Efficient condensing units can run 7000 BTUs of cooling for less than 40 amps at 12 volts. This would equate to 6 hours of cooling at 50% cycling time for each deep cycle 8D battery. In many cases this will cover the sleeping period where air conditioning is most Desired.

 Our more conventional systems run up to 16000 BTUs from self contained, water cooled, reverse cycle systems, or split systems. For the larger yachts SALT can provide multi-ton staged chillers.

Using high-velocity directional jets, the CoolBreeze system blows a targeted supply of ambient or chilled air directly on you and your passangers. When sweltering temperatures force others Inside to an air-conditioned saloon, your guests can Comfortably continue fishing, sunbathing, and enjoying your boat’s outdoor areas.
CoolBreeze's totally Automatic, two-stage operation is engineered to cool the people, not the space. When the temperature rises to the lower set point, the controller activates the blowers. The second stage activates the compressor to Chill the jetted air. The small-diameter PVC piping means CoolBreeze can easily be installed on boats of all types and sizes - only the diffusers are visible.
